Daily Reflection: Faith - Story

As I sat on my porch one quiet evening, the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with strokes of orange and purple. It brought to mind the words from 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” I reflected on how easy it is to let fear creep in, like shadows growing longer as daylight fades.

Imagine a young child learning to ride a bike. At first, their little hands grip the handlebars tightly, their eyes filled with both excitement and trepidation. They know they should trust the bike, yet every wobble sends shivers of doubt through them. But then, with the gentle encouragement of a parent, they begin to let go, balancing not just on the bike, but in their faith that they can do this. Those first few moments of freedom—when they realize they are riding on their own—are electric.

In our spiritual journeys, God invites us to let go of our fears and embrace His gifts of power, love, and self-control. Just as that child learns to trust in their ability, we grow in faith by relying on God’s promises. Each day offers us the opportunity to grow—learning to trust in His guidance, embracing humility as we lean into His strength. With every act of faith, we find ourselves not just surviving but thriving. So today, let us ride boldly into the unknown, assured that our Father is right there beside us, cheering us on.
