Daily Reflection: Goodness - Story

Picture a small community where everyone knows each other—the baker who greets you with a warm smile and a fresh loaf, the elderly neighbor who shares stories from days gone by, or the children playing in the streets, laughter ringing through the air. One day, a new family moves in, and as they unload their boxes, a sense of isolation surrounds them. They are strangers in a familiar place, their faces filled with uncertainty.

But then, one brave soul from the community steps forward—a young woman emboldened by the Spirit. She remembers the words from Joshua 1:9: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Inspired, she approaches the new family, introducing herself and inviting them over for dinner.

This simple act of goodness opens the door to connection, transforming both families. The new family feels the warmth of acceptance, while the young woman experiences the joy of obedience to God’s prompting.
