God Remembers: Remember Me
And if you put your trust in Jesus, He will remember you! You will not be forgotten!
A dying thief on the cross right next to Jesus, who started off mocking Jesus, had a change of heart somewhere along the way. And just in the nick of time, he turned to Jesus and said: "Remember me! Remember me when you come into your kingdom."
Jesus answered him: "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:42-43)
God remembered! Jesus remembered!
Remember that as you're wrestling with the horrors of the flood of long ago and the horrors of the pandemics of our day and the floods that threaten to destroy us from within as we battle with inner demons and chaos.
God is still in control. Jesus is still on the throne! And the new creation plan is already well underway, thanks to the Faithful One, God's own Son, who died but rose again after three days.
He was the firstfruit of that grand new creation plan—a plan that we get to be a part of if we fix our eyes on Jesus and ask Him the same question the thief on the cross asked: "Jesus! Jesus! Remember me! Remember me!"
