Living Out Courage - Teaching Material

As we reflect on Isaiah 40:31, we see a powerful promise: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” This scripture teaches us that courage is not merely the absence of fear but the presence of a deep, abiding trust in God.

Imagine for a moment an eagle soaring high in the sky, gliding effortlessly, taking advantage of the thermals. Just as that eagle trusts the currents of the wind to lift it higher, we are called to trust in the Lord to elevate us above our struggles. God doesn’t promise that we won’t face challenges; instead, He assures us that when we lean into Him, we will find renewed strength and the courage to face whatever comes our way.

Now, think about your own life. What is weighing you down today? Is it a health issue, a relationship strain, or perhaps a financial burden? Bring that before God. In prayer, let your heart be open and honest. This week, I challenge you to take one step, however small, that reflects your trust in God. Maybe it’s reaching out for help, seeking counsel, or simply pausing to meditate on His word. As you do, remember that it’s in these moments of courage—fuelled by love and hope—that God transforms our weariness into strength. Let’s step boldly into this promise, allowing His love to guide us on our journey of spiritual growth.
