Luther's Rediscovery - Lutheran (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Luther tried works: fasting, confession, pilgrimage, self-punishment. Nothing brought peace. Then he understood: "By grace... through faith... NOT by works." He later said, "This one and firm rock, which we call the doctrine of justification, is the chief article of the whole Christian doctrine." Everything else flows from this: we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Luther didn't discover a new idea; he rediscovered Paul. Ephesians 2:8-9 changed him—and the world. Has it changed you?
