Mary's Fiat: The Model of Trust - Catholic (Proverbs 3:5-6)
When the angel announced Mary would bear the Messiah, she asked one question—then surrendered: "Let it be to me according to your word." She didn't understand the virgin birth, the scandal, the sword that would pierce her heart. She trusted. Her "fiat" (let it be) is the model of Proverbs 3:5-6. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart." Mary's whole heart was given to trust. Catholics look to Mary as the first disciple—the one who shows us how to trust when we cannot understand.
