Quiet Time: Humility - Story
As I sat in my quiet corner this morning, the sunlight streamed through the window, casting golden rays across the pages of my Bible. There, in the stillness, I was reminded of the profound truth in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” These words have often been a source of motivation for grand endeavors, but today, they felt intimate, a gentle nudge towards humility.
I thought of a moment from my childhood, when my mother would kneel beside me as I struggled to tie my shoelaces. Her hands, guiding and patient, brought a sense of comfort and safety. She would say, “It’s okay to ask for help, dear. We all need someone to support us.” There was a humility in her approach, a recognition that strength often lies in our vulnerability.
In this posture of prayer, we embrace our limitations and acknowledge our dependence on God. When we let go of the need to have it all together, we create space for gratitude—gratitude for the small victories and the loving guidance of Christ in our lives.
As we cultivate humility, we open our hearts to spiritual growth, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us. It’s in this surrender that we find peace, a profound assurance that we are never alone. In sharing our stories, our struggles, and our victories, we bear witness to the incredible grace of our Savior, reminding ourselves and others that it is through Him that we truly find strength.
