Instead of saying "Abram rescued Lot from enemy kings," hear the war horns. Four kings against five, armies clashing in the Valley of Siddim, tar pits swallowing soldiers. Sodom and Gomorrah fall. And Lot—foolish Lot who chose the well-watered plain—is carried off with everything he owns. Word reaches Abram. Watch the shepherd become a general. 318 trained men, born in his own house, pursuing professional armies by night. The surprise attack. The slaughter. Lot recovered. Then the strangest encounter: Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, emerging with bread and wine to bless Abram. Who is this king with no genealogy? Abram gives him a tenth of everything. And when Sodom's king offers reward, Abram refuses: "I will accept nothing belonging to you."
