Instead of saying "God made the sky," help them see the ancient cosmology. Picture waters everywhere—above, below, pressing in from all sides like the world is submerged in an infinite ocean. Then God speaks, and something impossible happens: the waters pull apart. Watch them separate like curtains being drawn, straining against invisible hands. Between them, a vast dome appears—the expanse, the firmament, the sky. Feel the weight of waters held above, blue and shimmering, separated from the waters below by nothing but the word of God. This is not a ceiling; it's a cathedral. The ancients looked up and saw not empty space but held-back waters, a daily miracle of restraint. God calls this expanse "sky," and evening falls across it for the first time.
