Show Don't Tell: Genesis 42:1-28

Instead of saying "Joseph's brothers came to Egypt for grain," watch the recognition scene. Ten brothers bow before the Egyptian governor—faces to the ground, just like the sheaves in the dream. Joseph recognizes them instantly. They don't recognize him: shaved, dressed Egyptian, speaking through an interpreter, twenty years older. Feel the surge of emotion he hides. He accuses them: "You are spies!" They protest, mention their father, their youngest brother, their lost brother. Joseph hears himself described as dead. He tests them: "Bring your youngest brother, or you'll never see my face again." Simeon bound before their eyes. Silver secretly returned in their sacks. On the road home, they find it. "Their hearts sank and they turned to each other trembling."
