Show Don't Tell: Genesis 45:16-28

Instead of saying "Pharaoh invited Jacob's family to Egypt," watch the news travel. Pharaoh is pleased and makes an extraordinary offer: "Bring your father and families. I will give you the best of the land." Carts are sent. New clothes for everyone—but for Benjamin, five sets and three hundred shekels of silver. As they leave, Joseph warns: "Don't quarrel on the way." He knows his brothers. The journey home. The arrival. Watch Jacob's face when they tell him: "Joseph is still alive! He is ruler of all Egypt." Jacob's heart grows numb; he doesn't believe. But they show the carts, repeat the words. His spirit revives. "I'm convinced! My son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die."
