Show Don't Tell: John 4:27-30
Instead of saying "The disciples returned and the woman left," watch the water jar stay behind. Just then his disciples return and are surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asks: "What do you want?" or "Why are you talking with her?" They think it but don't say it. The woman leaves her water jar—she came for water, she leaves without it, but with something better—goes back to the town and says to the people: "Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?" They come out of the town and make their way toward him. The jar stays behind. The woman becomes an evangelist.
