Instead of saying "Many Samaritans believed," watch faith grow. Many of the Samaritans from that town believe in him because of the woman's testimony: "He told me everything I ever did." So when the Samaritans come to him, they urge him to stay with them—and he stays two days. And because of his words many more become believers. They say to the woman: "We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world." From her testimony to their own encounter. From secondhand faith to firsthand knowledge. And the title: not just Savior of Israel—Savior of the world. Samaritans see what many Jews miss.
