Show Don't Tell: Luke 18:35-43
Instead of saying "Jesus healed a blind beggar near Jericho," hear the shouting over the crowd. As Jesus approaches Jericho, a blind man is sitting by the roadside begging. Hearing the crowd going by, he asks what is happening. "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by." He calls out: "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Those in front rebuke him and tell him to be quiet. He shouts all the more: "Son of David, have mercy on me!" The crowd wants silence; he wants sight. Jesus stops and orders the man to be brought to him. "What do you want me to do for you?" "Lord, I want to see." "Receive your sight; your faith has healed you." Immediately he receives his sight and follows Jesus, praising God. When all the people see it, they also praise God. The one told to be quiet becomes the catalyst for worship.
