Show Don't Tell: Luke 20:20-26
Instead of saying "Jesus answered the question about paying taxes," hold the coin. Keeping a close watch on him, they send spies, who pretend to be sincere. They hope to catch Jesus in something he says, so they might hand him over to the governor. "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" He sees through their duplicity. "Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?" "Caesar's." "Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." They are unable to trap him in what he says in public. Astonished by his answer, they become silent. The coin bears Caesar's image; the person bears God's image. Give appropriately to both.
