Show Don't Tell: Luke 23:50-56
Instead of saying "Jesus was buried," meet the secret disciple. Now there is a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and upright man, who had not consented to their decision and action. He comes from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself is waiting for the kingdom of God. Going to Pilate, he asks for Jesus' body. Then he takes it down, wraps it in linen cloth and places it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one has yet been laid. It is Preparation Day, and the Sabbath is about to begin. The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee follow Joseph and see the tomb and how his body is laid in it. Then they go home and prepare spices and perfumes. But they rest on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment. Even in grief, obedience. The body waits in the rock. The women wait for Sabbath to end.
