Show Don't Tell: Luke 5:12-16

Instead of saying "Jesus healed a leper," feel the forbidden touch. While Jesus is in one of the towns, a man covered with leprosy comes along. Not just afflicted—covered with it. When he sees Jesus, he falls with his face to the ground and begs him: "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." He doesn't doubt Jesus' power—only his willingness to touch someone like him. Jesus reaches out his hand and touches the man. "I am willing. Be clean!" Immediately the leprosy leaves him. Jesus orders him: "Don't tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them." Yet the news about Jesus spreads all the more. Crowds come to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdraws to lonely places and prays. Fame grows; he retreats to pray.
