Show Don't Tell: Mark 3:1-6
Instead of saying "Jesus healed on the Sabbath despite opposition," feel the anger and grief. Another Sabbath, another synagogue. A man with a shriveled hand is there. They watch Jesus closely—will he heal on the Sabbath? They're looking for a reason to accuse him. Jesus calls the man forward: "Stand up in front of everyone." Public. Undeniable. Then the question: "Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" Silence. He looks around at them in anger, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts. Mark alone records both emotions—anger at their hypocrisy, grief at their hardness. "Stretch out your hand." The man stretches it out—completely restored. The Pharisees go out and immediately begin plotting with the Herodians how to kill Jesus. Doing good on the Sabbath provokes a murder conspiracy. Who's really breaking God's law?
