Show Don't Tell: Mark 8:11-13
Instead of saying "Jesus refused to give a sign," feel the sigh. The Pharisees come and begin to question Jesus. To test him, they ask for a sign from heaven. They've seen healings, exorcisms, feedings—but they want something more. A display on demand. Proof from the sky. "He sighed deeply and said, 'Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to it.'" The sigh comes from deep within—exhaustion, grief, frustration. How many miracles are enough? What would satisfy skeptics determined not to believe? He leaves them, gets back into the boat, and crosses to the other side. He just walks away. Some demands don't deserve answers. Some questioners don't want to find truth.
