Show Don't Tell: Mark 9:2-13
Instead of saying "Jesus was transfigured on the mountain," watch glory break through skin. After six days, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a high mountain by themselves. There he is transfigured before them—his clothes become dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. Not just clean but radiating. Then Elijah and Moses appear, talking with Jesus. The Law and the Prophets conferring with their fulfillment. Peter blurts out: "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." He doesn't know what to say; they're so frightened. A cloud envelops them, and a voice comes from the cloud: "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!" Suddenly, when they look around, they see no one except Jesus. Coming down the mountain, Jesus orders them not to tell anyone until the Son of Man has risen from the dead. They keep the matter to themselves, discussing what "rising from the dead" means.
