Show Don't Tell: Matthew 11:16-19
Instead of saying "Jesus criticized his generation's inconsistency," watch the children in the marketplace. Kids sitting there, calling to others: "We played the pipe for you, and you didn't dance; we sang a dirge, and you didn't mourn." Nothing satisfies them. John came fasting—"He has a demon." Jesus came eating and drinking—"Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners." If you fast, you're possessed. If you feast, you're a drunk. The game is rigged; any prophet will be rejected. But wisdom is proved right by her deeds. The evidence will vindicate—not public opinion, not popular approval, but the fruit that grows from the teaching.
