Show Don't Tell: Matthew 13:18-23

Instead of saying "Jesus explained the parable of the sower," decode the soils. The seed is the message of the kingdom. The path: someone hears but doesn't understand—the evil one snatches it away. Word in, word out, no impact. The rocky ground: initial joy, no root. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they fall away immediately. Emotional converts with no staying power. The thorns: they hear, but worries of this life and deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. Divided hearts produce nothing. But the good soil: they hear, understand, and produce—thirty, sixty, a hundred times what was sown. Same message, four responses. Which soil are you? And can soil be changed?
