Show Don't Tell: Matthew 13:36-43
Instead of saying "Jesus explained the parable of the weeds," decode the field. The sower of good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world. The good seed—the people of the kingdom. The weeds—the people of the evil one. The enemy who sows them—the devil. The harvest—the end of the age. The harvesters—angels. "As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age." Watch the angels sweep through the kingdom, collecting everything that causes sin and all who do evil. "They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Feel the heat, hear the anguish. "Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father." Blazing glory for some, blazing torment for others. "Whoever has ears, let them hear."
