Show Don't Tell: Matthew 13:47-52
Instead of saying "Jesus told the parable of the net," haul in the catch. The kingdom is like a dragnet thrown into the lake, catching fish of every kind. When it's full, fishermen pull it to shore, sit down, and sort: good fish into baskets, bad fish thrown away. "This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Another separation scene. Jesus asks: "Have you understood all these things?" Yes, Lord. Then the teacher's task: "Every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old." Ancient truth and fresh revelation, both needed.
