Show Don't Tell: Matthew 15:32-39
Instead of saying "Jesus fed four thousand," hear compassion speak again. Jesus calls his disciples: "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way." Three days without food—devotion that forgot to pack lunch. The disciples ask where in this remote place they could find enough bread. Seven loaves, a few small fish. Jesus takes them, gives thanks, breaks, gives to the disciples, disciples to the crowd. Four thousand men, plus women and children, all satisfied. Seven basketfuls left over. After the five thousand, they still ask where to find bread. We forget God's provision so quickly.
