Show Don't Tell: Matthew 19:13-15
Instead of saying "Jesus welcomed children," watch the disciples build a barrier. People bring little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuke them—Jesus is busy, children are unimportant, adults have real needs. But Jesus: "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Picture it: children running to Jesus, climbing on his lap, pulling his beard, laughing. He places his hands on them. He prays for them. He takes time. Then he moves on. But the point is made: the kingdom belongs to the undignified, the dependent, those who can't contribute. The disciples' priorities are inverted from the kingdom's.
