Show Don't Tell: Matthew 2:1-12
Instead of saying "Wise men came from the East," watch them enter Jerusalem. Foreigners. Pagans. Star-gazers from Babylon or Persia, riding camels laden with treasure. They ask openly: "Where is the one born king of the Jews?" Feel Herod's paranoia spike. He summons the priests. They know—Bethlehem, the prophet said. Herod sends the Magi with secret instructions: "Report back." They follow the star until it stops over a house—not a palace, not a temple. Inside: a young child and his mother. Watch these powerful men fall to their knees. Gold for a king. Frankincense for a priest. Myrrh for one who will die. Then a dream warns them: don't go back to Herod. They return home by another route. The first Gentiles to worship Jesus are also the first to defy a king for him.
