Show Don't Tell: Matthew 24:1-14
Instead of saying "Jesus predicted the temple's destruction and end times," see the stones fall. Jesus leaves the temple; his disciples point to its buildings—massive stones, Herod's magnificent construction. Jesus: "Do you see all these things? Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down." On the Mount of Olives, they ask privately: when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming? Jesus warns: "Watch out that no one deceives you. Many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah.'" False Christs first. Wars and rumors of wars—but the end is not yet. Nation against nation. Famines. Earthquakes. These are the beginning of birth pains—contractions before delivery. Then persecution, betrayal, hatred, false prophets, love growing cold. "But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
