Show Don't Tell: Matthew 25:1-13
Instead of saying "Jesus told the parable of the ten virgins," watch the lamps flicker. The kingdom is like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five were foolish—lamps but no extra oil. Five were wise—flasks filled. The bridegroom was a long time coming; they all grew drowsy and slept. At midnight: "Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!" They wake, trim their lamps. The foolish: "Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out." But the wise: "No, there may not be enough for both. Go to those who sell oil and buy some." While they were away buying, the bridegroom arrived. Those ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. The door was shut. Later, the others arrive: "Lord, Lord, open the door for us!" He replied, "Truly I tell you, I don't know you." Borrowed faith doesn't work. "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."
