Show Don't Tell: Matthew 7:1-6

Instead of saying "Jesus warned against judging," see the absurdity. A plank—a construction beam—sticking out of your eye. You stumble around with this lumber protruding from your face, and you spot a speck of sawdust in your brother's eye. "Let me help you with that!" How can you even see it? First remove the plank from your own eye, then you'll see clearly to remove the speck. The image is grotesque, ridiculous—and convicting. How often do we magnify others' faults while ignoring our own? But then a balance: "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs." Some discernment is required. Not everyone will receive truth. Don't judge hypocritically, but don't be naive either.
