Show Don't Tell: Matthew 9:18-26

Instead of saying "Jesus raised a dead girl and healed a bleeding woman," watch the stories intertwine. A synagogue ruler kneels—his daughter just died. "Come and put your hand on her, and she will live." Jesus follows. The crowd presses. Somewhere in that crush, a woman reaches out. Twelve years of bleeding—ritually unclean, socially isolated, medically bankrupt. She thinks: "If I only touch his cloak." Her fingers brush the hem. Jesus stops: "Take heart, daughter, your faith has healed you." One touch, twelve years ended. Then the ruler's house: flute players already mourning, the crowd wailing. Jesus says, "The girl is not dead but asleep." They laugh at him. He clears the room, takes her hand, and she gets up. News spreads through the whole region. Death and disease—both yield to his touch.
