Show Don't Tell: Psalm 100
Instead of saying "Worship God with joy," walk through the gates. A psalm for giving grateful praise. "Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs." Volume and joy—not somber duty. "Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture." Know—not assume, not forget. Made us, owns us, shepherds us. "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." Physical movement—through gates, into courts. Hands probably raised, voices lifted. "For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Five verses. Complete worship instruction. Good, loving, faithful—forever, through all generations. The psalm that has launched countless worship services for three thousand years.
