Show Don't Tell: Psalm 15

Instead of saying "The righteous may dwell with God," read the entrance requirements. "LORD, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?" The question: who gets access to God's presence? The answer—character traits, not ritual accomplishments: "The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others." Walk, do, speak—all aligned. "Who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the LORD." Know who to admire and who to despise. "Who keeps an oath even when it hurts." Promise made, promise kept—regardless of cost. "Who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent." Economics of justice—no profiting from desperation, no selling verdicts. "Whoever does these things will never be shaken." The promise: stability, security, immovability. Not ritual purity but relational integrity.
