The Birmingham Jail That Became a Beacon - Progressive (Romans 8:28)
In April 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested in Birmingham for leading nonviolent protests. From his jail cell, he wrote a letter that would become one of history's most important documents on justice. Without that arrest, there's no "Letter from Birmingham Jail." The system meant to silence him created a platform for his voice. Romans 8:28 doesn't promise individual comfort; it promises God works within broken systems to bring redemption. King's imprisonment wasn't good; what emerged from it advanced justice. God redeems even injustice for purposes the oppressors can't imagine.
