In 1980, four American churchwomen were murdered in El Salvador while serving the poor. They weren't just preaching; they were feeding, healing, advocating. The military saw their work as subversive—because the Great Commission IS subversive. "Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded"—and Jesus commanded justice, mercy, solidarity with the marginalized.
