The Eucharistic Table of Psalm 23 - Catholic (Psalm 23)

Source: Liturgical reflection74 words

"You prepare a table before me"—Catholics see this fulfilled in the Eucharist. Every Mass, the Lord prepares a table: bread become Body, wine become Blood. The Shepherd feeds His flock with Himself. Pope Benedict XVI reflected: "In the Eucharist, Psalm 23 becomes reality; the Lord truly becomes my Shepherd." The oil of anointing, the overflowing cup, the dwelling in God's house—all find sacramental expression. The psalm isn't past tense; it's present in every liturgy.
