The Gift You Can't Earn - Traditional (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Source: Contemporary analogy95 words

A wealthy man died, leaving his estate to his lazy nephew. The nephew had done nothing to deserve it—hadn't worked for his uncle, hadn't visited him, hadn't earned a penny of it. The inheritance was pure gift. Some thought it unfair; the uncle's will said otherwise. "By grace you have been saved through faith... not by works, so that no one can boast." Salvation is inheritance from a generous God, not wages from a demanding employer. The gift offends our sense of fairness—and that's exactly the point. Grace is unfair. That's what makes it grace.
