The Paschal Psalm - Orthodox (Psalm 23)
In Orthodox tradition, Psalm 23 is sung during the Paschal (Easter) liturgy. Why? Because "the valley of the shadow of death" leads to "dwell in the house of the LORD forever." Death is a valley to pass THROUGH, not a destination. The Shepherd who descends to Hades leads the sheep out again. Every baptism echoes this: we go down into death with Christ and rise to new life. Psalm 23 is resurrection promise. The valley has an exit.
