The Poor Man's Psalm - Liberation (Psalm 23)
Oscar Romero often preached Psalm 23 to the campesinos of El Salvador. "God is YOUR shepherd," he told people who owned nothing. "You shall not want"—not because poverty doesn't matter, but because God provides. "A table in the presence of enemies"—when death squads threatened, God still fed His people through the church's solidarity. Romero was killed, but his reading of Psalm 23 persists: the Shepherd sides with the poor, feeds them when the powerful would starve them.
