The Spirit's Fire: Living in Pentecostal Power - Story

A story for devotional reflection

The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives within you (Romans 8:11). This isn't just theological truth but practical reality. Jesus promised, 'You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you' (Acts 1:8)—power for witness, power for ministry, power for supernatural living. Too many Christians live as if the Day of Pentecost never happened. They believe in the Spirit theoretically but don't experience Him practically. The Spirit desires to fill you afresh each day, empowering you for whatever lies ahead. He helps in our weakness, interceding for us 'through wordless groans' when we don't know how to pray (Romans 8:26). Sometimes this happens through praying in tongues—a gift available to every believer that builds up your spirit and connects you to God beyond the limitations of your mind (1 Corinthians 14:4). But the Spirit's power isn't just for private devotion. He gifts you to serve others: words of knowledge that minister precisely to someone's need, prayers for healing that God honors, prophecies that encourage and direct. Don't limit the Spirit to what makes you comfortable. Ask Him to fill you, to use you, to surprise you with His power. Expect the supernatural—not as entertainment but as God's normal way of demonstrating His love through His people. Fan into flame the gifts God has given you.
