Theosis and the Spirit's Fruit - Orthodox (Galatians 5:22-23)
Orthodox theology sees the fruit of the Spirit as evidence of theosis—becoming partakers of divine nature. God IS love, joy, peace. As we grow into union with Him, His attributes become ours—not by our achievement but by His indwelling. St. Seraphim of Sarov radiated such peace that wild animals approached him without fear and visitors wept in his presence. The fruit was visible because the Spirit's presence was deep. Theosis produces fruit; fruit reveals theosis.
