Morning Meditation: Environmental Justice
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause this morning, I am drawn to the heart of your creation, where the beauty of our world meets the brokenness of humanity. In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, your Word paints a picture of love that is patient, kind, and unyielding. In this moment of reflection, I ask you to help me see the issue of Environmental Justice through your eyes.
Imagine a child, bare feet on cracked earth, her face upturned toward the sun, eyes sparkling with hope. She dreams of trees that provide shade, rivers that flow freely, and air that is clean and pure. Yet, all around her, we witness the scars of neglect and abuse inflicted upon this world you entrusted to our care. As your followers, we are called to respond, not just with words, but with tangible acts of love—agape, the selfless love that compels us to act.
Lord, guide my heart to be a beacon in this darkness. Illuminate the path you have set before me, where I can bring healing to our environment and advocate for those who often have no voice—the marginalized, the oppressed, and the vulnerable. Help me to reflect your character in my actions, whether it’s planting a community garden, joining a local clean-up effort, or simply choosing to reduce my own waste. May these choices draw others closer to you, revealing your heart for creation.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Take a moment today to listen. What is God whispering to you about how you can engage with the call of Environmental Justice? Look for ways to honor Him in the world around you, serving others as you reflect His love in action.
