Bodies on the Line - Black Church (Romans 12:1-2)
The Civil Rights Movement was bodily sacrifice: bodies in bus seats, bodies at lunch counters, bodies crossing bridges, bodies in jail cells. "Present your bodies as a living sacrifice." Activists literally put their flesh on the line. "Do not conform to the pattern of this world"—the world's pattern was segregation; they refused it. Their bodies became prophetic testimony. Romans 12:1-2 was enacted in Birmingham, in Selma, in Montgomery. What is your body witnessing to?
